1.Introduction
“ Sankhuwasabha” the name of one of the hilly districts of Nepal is situated in the eastern development region. The district is named after Sankhuwa and Sabhaya two big screams of the district. These streams are famous for tasty fishThe district lies on the lap of Mt.Makalu (8463meter) the fifth highest mountain in the world . Mountain is considered as oneof the most beautiful in theworld. It dominates the northern horizon. The area of district is 3468.18 square kilometer. The district is famous Arun Valley (487 meter, the lowest land in theworld.
Makalu Barun National park and Buffer Zone area (1500 km2 ) was established in 1992 by the Makalu Barun conservation project and department of National park and Wild Life Conservation HMG/ Nepal. Sankhuwasabha is full of natural cultural biological diversity. We can find rare animals and flowers different kinds of butterflies, The Makalu Barun Area is little is little know to most tourists due to its relative inaccessibility .But those few hundred trekkers and mountaineers who vist each years come way with and unforgettable experience. For more than 50 years trekking from tumbling tar to Mt. Makalu Base camp has been popular among the tourists.
For the naturalists, there are spectacular display of wild flowers and exotic plants. More than 3000 species of flowering with hundreds of orchid varieties 48 primroses, and 25 of Nepals rode drones decorate the hillsides with colours.The forest shelters varieties of wildlife, including the endangered.
2.Getting to Sankhuwasabha.
Sankhuwasabha district can be reached by domestic plane service from Tribhuwan international airport Kathmandu to Tumling Tar Airport. It takes about 40 minutes to land in Tumling tar.While flying in the sky you can observe the different natural beauty. Then from there you can catch a taxi to Khandbari. It is 11 kilometers far from Tumling tar and it takes about one hour to reach there by taxi.

4. When to Visit? Most Trekkers and mountainers visit Makalu Barun Area during October and March and April wnen high paths are less likely to be snowed over.Lower elevatios are temperate through Winter hot during April and May. Heavy monsoon rains occur throughout the region and from June through September, with occasional showers during April in an open lawn
The trekkers also pay nearly $5.00 if they are camping in the lawn of the schools any or of any institution for the their service
4. Climate:Sankhuwasabha has four major seasons, manely
i) Winter = December - February ii) Spring= March- May iii)Summer= June-
August, iv) Autumn = September - November
Sankhuwasabha can be visited the whole year round
5. What to wear? Light weight clothing is recommended for May through October. Warm garments are required in October -March. An umbrella or a raincoat is a most for the rainy season.
6. Language: Nepali is the national language.However,travel trade people speak English as well.
7.Currency: Nepali Rupees approximately US$ equals Rs.76
8. People: Sankhuwasabha has more than 20 ethnic groups and 20 spoken languages
9.Religion: Sankhuwasabhs enjoys the distinction of being the only Hindu . However, there is a harmonious blending of Hinduism and Buddhism.
