1.What is child sponsorship program of  SESF like?

SESF has designed the child sponsorship program  with the idea and hope  that small contribution of money  and supplies can benefit and even change the lives of  many poor  and needy children and their community.

SESF invites application from poorest children at the beginning of the academic year. SESF Working committee meets and selects the needy (Poorest but most talent) children for the recommendation of the sponsorship. Priority is given to girls. SESF works with local community leaders in the selection process. SESF secretary stays in the close contact  and communication with the  children and their parents of their education.

2.What does SESF do?
 SESF provides the link between the child and the sponsors by :

• Collecting the children photo and biographical information and sending all the information and details to prospective sponsors.
• Regularly visiting the children,  their schools and parents and collecting information about their progress and updating to their respective  sponsors.
• Collecting the children progress report and sending the copies to the sponsors.
• Helping the children to write letters, greeting cards etc to their respective donors.

3. Who will receive support in the child sponsorship program?Children who are

• Girls children  are given priority.
• Financially poor children
• Children from untouchable (Dalit) families
• Physically and mentally handicapped children 

4. Who will select  the children?
SESF working committee will select the children. Local teachers, school headmasters  are encouraged to involve in the selection process.

7. Who is encouraged  to get involved in the program?

• Local people
• overseas individuals
• A family.
• A youth group
•  organization/  donor agencies
• SESF committee

5. What commitment is required from the sponsors?

SESF is concerned with making  a long term impact in the childrens lives. So we ask the sponsors  to make a commitment to  sponsor a child  until the child completes grade 12.

6. How much  does it cost to sponsor  a child in Khandbari?
 
The cost to sponsor a child trough SESF around $USD17 per month,  $200 per  per each sponsored child.
 The sponsored funds are distributed  in the following way.

• Direct Assistance to the child  = 80%
• Administration Fee.                   = 20%
• Total                                             = 100%

The administration fees cover the costs associated with operating this program, including internet fees, stationer, postage, taking developing  and scanning photos for the website etc.

7. When will the child begin to receive the  sponsorship?
 SESF will  select  the children  and  and send their photos along the detail information. Sponsorship begins as soon as  SESF receives money from the sponsor.
 
8.What does a child receive?
 
The child will receive the following direct expenditure.

• Admission and examination fees.
• Two pairs of school uniforms shoes, school bags,
• Sweater for the winter/ raincoat for rainy season.
• Books, stationery and other school supplies.
• Snacks for the child
•  Medication

10.How do I get started?

You can begin your sponsorship by clicking on children waiting for sponsors and  selecting  one or more children you would like to sponsor. Then contact the SESE secretary treasure  Mr. Tejanath Pokharel  and inform him  that you have selected  a child to sponsor and are sending the  funds to start!

11.How can I track the progress of the child I sponsor?

At the end of each  school term every sponsor will receive (via postal mail) the following item related to the child.

•  A copy of the child school report
• A letter from the child.
• A picture of the child
• a detail income expenditure and balance of the child during the academic yeaqr.
  

12.May  I send  gift to my  sponsored child ?

Yes! All gifts can be sent directly  to SESF.Please send any gifts via mail  to the following address

16. How can I communicate with my sponsored child? 

  Frequent contact between the child and the sponsor is encouraged. It  lets you connect with your child and lets him/her feel loved. You can communicate through letters mailed to the above address or ve-mail.
