Introduction

The orphanage entitled Child Welfare Home, Khandbari was established in 2005 in Khandbari by a children's club entitled Makalu Tri Shakti Samuha (MATS) Nepal, Khandbari to provide a safe home and emotional support and educational opportunities, orphaned children from Khandbari area.The program was ccommenced to support three orphan helpless children around Khandbari area by collecting some handful village donations and by hiring three rooms in a house in Khandbari bazaar. In the beginning people were over enjoyed providing a handful of food grain and a little money for the children. Their enthusiasm remained for some years. The program was interesting and seemed successful among the people.

Now the orphanage has already celebrated its 5 years' anniversary of it establishment. At present there are all together 10 children ( five boys and five girls) (from 7 to 15 years of age) and a cook mother named Dhanamya Nepal to look after them.
In order to run the orphanage the committee has rented a house in Khandbari municipality Ward No 1. The building is situated in pleasant surrounding far from noise, dust and the smoke of the city. 6. Its objectivesThe main objective of the orphanage is to provide a safe home and emotional support as well as educational opportunities to orphaned children from remote hilly of district of eastern of Nepal and help them self dependent in the future.



Mission.
The orphanage exists to provide a safe home and emotional support, educational opportunities for orphaned children from around the hilly districts of eastern Nepal.

Objectives: The main objective of the orphanage is


•to provide a safe home and emotional support and educational opportunities, for 30 orphaned helpless children from around the hilly districts of eastern Nepal and help to make them self dependent in the future.


The Children go to School

All the children under the care of the orphanage go to private English boarding schools in Khandbari. The school managing committees have been generously providing free education to them. At home they sit around in the circle in their reading room and read books without any teacher's help. They really enjoy reading books and are happy to go to school.
 

The children also read in their bedrooms before they go to bed. They really enjoy reading books and are happy to go to school.

The cook mother.
The cook mother, Mrs Dhana Maya Nepal, is also homeless and landless a widow. Her husband died many years ago from a chronic disease. She has been living at the orphange with her two children : a 13 year old son a 8 years old daughter. Dhanaya is very happy to have a chance to be a god mother to such a group of children. She loves the children equally and looks after them very well. The children also have been fortunate to receive motherly love from their cook mother. She cooks for them, feeds them and takes care of them. She also helps them in their playing and other activities.
